From Stroller Runs to Deadlifts: Meet Alexi
Alexi’s fitness story started as a runner in her early 20s. Through moves across the country, two pregnancies, and stroller jogs at what she calls a “snail’s pace,” running was always her constant. But as she got older, she realized something was missing.
“I knew I needed strength training,” she says. “I had a weak hip from always carrying my second kid on one side, and I wasn’t consistent with my physical therapy. I even bought a TRX to use at home, but let’s be honest—doing workouts in a low-ceiling basement alone is not the same.”
Like many of us, she knew what she needed, but not how to make herself do it. What she really craved was accountability and a group of people to push her along the way.

Finding Studio ME—By Chance
Sometimes the best things happen by coincidence. For Alexi, it was her neighborhood’s National Night Out. That’s where she bumped into Coach Siri—wearing a Studio ME shirt—and learned about the early morning bootcamp program that sounded like it checked all her boxes: consistency, community, and a start time that fit her life.
“I remember telling Coach Sami my goals were: 1) do 10 ‘real’ push-ups, 2) lose 25 pounds, and 3) someday, do an unassisted pull-up. Oh, and I wanted to run without pain in my hip. What I didn’t know was that the real glue keeping me here would be the community. These people have become friends, and they make me want to show up even when I don’t feel like it.”

Progress Worth Celebrating
One year later, Alexi is proud of what she’s accomplished—and rightfully so.
Push-ups? Check. She can do 10 now (from zero when she started).
Strength? She’s bench pressing and deadlifting more than she could in her 20s.
Nutrition? That’s been the biggest game-changer.
Despite her effort in the gym, weight loss was slow and frustrating. “I felt like I was working so hard but not seeing results. Going through Studio ME’s nutrition program completely changed how I eat.”
The breakthrough? Protein. Alexi discovered she wasn’t fueling her body properly for her activity level. With a few tweaks, everything changed.
“In six months, I’ve lost 10 pounds, gained muscle mass, and my blood glucose has improved—a huge win since Type 2 diabetes runs in my family. But the biggest revelation was this: I eat to fuel my body, not just what sounds good in the moment. And crazy enough, I actually find more joy in eating the macros I need than the cookies I want.”
Looking Ahead
Alexi’s goals now are about showing up, staying consistent, and maybe—someday—knocking out that elusive unassisted pull-up. But the real victory is how fitness fits into her life.
“The benefit of getting older and knowing yourself better is that you know how to set yourself up for success. For me it’s something early in the AM, a challenging workout, and I have people who keep me accountable. I knew this place would work for me if it could make it work in my otherwise packed life, and here we are: a match made in…sweat?” she jokes.
Alexi is proof of what’s possible when you pair accountability with a strong community. She shows up, she puts in the work, and she inspires everyone around her.
Cheers to Alexi—here’s to many more mornings, milestones, and getting that pull-up!
