Rochelle hitting a leg day hard!

Overcoming Injury and Discovering New Opportunities

Rochelle, initially a runner, found herself facing a series of injuries after completing a marathon. Determined to find a new approach that would support her body while keeping her motivated.

"Initially I joined Studio ME after Lisa Spencer told me about it. I had met Megan and Siri at an event, and they seemed great. I had just been a runner at that point, never really stuck any type of workout program (gym memberships that I'd rarely use!). Running was taking a toll on my body (had injury after running a marathon) and decided I need to try something new. When I first started going I was focusing on rowing classes and Liz's TRX class (whatever it was called back then!). I kept adding various classes. I enjoyed the coaches and members -- it was a fun and supportive group of people.”

From Rowing to TRX: Expanding Horizons

Rochelle's fitness journey at Studio ME began with rowing classes and Liz's TRX class, As she continued attending various classes, she became captivated by the supportive and welcoming atmosphere created by our coaches and fellow members. Through the guidance and expert coaching, Rochelle discovered a supportive community that helped her break through fitness plateaus and strive for new challenges.

Fitness During Unprecedented Times

When the pandemic hit, Rochelle realized the significance of exercise in her life. It was more than just a means to physical strength—it was an essential part of her mental well-being.

“When the pandemic hit, I realized how integral working out had become in my life. It was more than just making me stronger - but also had helped my mental well-being. Megan gave us weights to take home and adapted to online programs, which we great when we had no other options. As soon as we could get back into the Studio I was there.”

Unlocking New Levels of Strength

When Studio ME introduced A12 (now ME12), Rochelle eagerly signed up for the program. This transformative experience completely reshaped her body and unveiled an inner strength she didn't know she possessed.

This program was fantastic. It transformed my body and I became stronger than I ever thought I could be. Since then I have continued on with semi-private training to continue the strength and conditioning program in an individualized way - I'm able to work out with others, but the program is tailored to each individual within the group.”

“Although certain things we can't change about our bodies (genetics, aging, etc.), I wanted to take control of what I could. I had battled back issues my entire life due to a birth defect. I wanted to do what I could to strengthen my core and make my body stronger. Two years ago I was diagnosed with osteopenia. I started taking calcium and continued weight training - and building up the weights. In my recent body scan, my results were "normal" and my doctor said all my weight training was working!”

Building a Stronger Body and Mind

Having witnessed the effects of a sedentary lifestyle on her mother's health, Rochelle was further motivated to prioritize her physical and mental well-being. She has committed herself to maintaining an active lifestyle as long as possible, understanding that the effort she puts into her fitness today will shape her future.

“My mom lived a sedentary lifestyle (worked in office and didn't do much at nights) and I saw her body deteriorate. It incentivized me to work out more for my physical and mental health. I will keep this up as long as I can.”
