I want to live an active retirement - Meet Timothy

Congratulations to April Member of the Month, Timothy! Timothy, a pilot for Delta, joined Studio ME about 2 years ago because he needed some guidance on getting back into tiptop shape for flying. But Timothy was also thinking ahead toward his upcoming retirement. In order to have the active retirement of his dreams, Timothy knew he needed to ramp up his fitness.

After experiencing some medical issues, Timothy was prescribed exercise and dietary interventions to meet the physical requirements pilots need to meet in order to be able to fly. Timothy knew he needed to find an experienced coach to help him get back into flying shape and turned to, well, Google.

Luckily, Google led him to Studio ME and he has never looked back! He has come so far in this training with us and is on his way to being able to do things he couldn’t just two years ago. That improvement in strength is going to set him up for a healthy and active retirement and we are so proud of him.

“I decided to join a gym after recovery from medical issues the last few years. I will retire from work this year, and I realized that the quality of my retirement will be directly related to the quality of my health.”

See, Timothy was active and had a lot of hobbies such as snowboarding, sailing and active travel, but stopped due to work and international flights. Soon, he found himself out of shape and unable to do them. Things we take for granted like getting up and and down off the floor sure does get difficult when we sit for 10-14 hours at at time.

As Timothy gets stronger, his goal has been to get back to these activities so his goal has been on improving his endurance, strength, and flexibility.

“My workouts with my coach are much more effective than attempts to workout on my own.  Also, having a scheduled time commitment with coach Sami keeps me accountable.  Although, an additional goal is to learn to do this on my own. I know I will spend some time abroad after I retire, and I need to know what to do when I walk into a gym by myself and no one speaks English. Haha.

One aspect of Studio ME that I find beneficial is the seamless transition from coach to coach. On those occasions when my schedule requires me to have a session with another coach the transition is easy due the tracking of my fitness plan.  My experience with Studio ME & Coach Sami has been great and has helped me tremendously on my fitness journey.”

Timothy we are excited as you enter into your last year of work and get to live that active and healthy life (post retirement) getting back to all your favorite hobbies. We are so glad you have chosen us to guide you on your journey.
